The City of Palm Bay is requesting bids for mowing maintenance services at City Parks and adjacent areas. No commitments for future purchases for this or any other project are implied and responding Bidders should not infer any such intentions by the City. 1. Each weekly mowing cycle shall consist of mowing maintenance of the entire park unless otherwise directed herein to include: a. curb edging, which is the removal of any and all plant material which encroaches onto sidewalks (both sides), curbs, steps, concrete driveways, and concrete areas; curb edging shall only be done every other cut cycle, no more than 13 times between May and October; to include tennis courts, basketball courts and skate rink. b. weed and grass trimming around guardrails, poles, signs, fire hydrants, trees, shrubs, endwalls, flower beds, bleachers, picnic tables, fence posts, and other objects that may be located within the City parks; to include weed and grass trimming to the water's edge around bodies of water and around the outside of all athletics fences and surfaces. c. sweeping/blowing sidewalks, streets, and other finished surfaces of cut debris deposits left as the result of the Contractor's activities. d. weed spraying in flower beds (TWCC, Cricket Complex, Captains House, PBAC, Senior Center), sidewalk cracks, curbed edging, and parking lots. 2. Specific mowing exclusions: All athletic turf fields are excluded from this contract. 3. Specific mowing inclusions: The Fire Rescue Headquarters building is included as part of the Liberty Park site. The awarded Contractor MUST alert the receptionist at the front desk of the Fire Rescue Headquarters building that they will be mowing the median between the parking lot at least five (5) minutes before mowing that segment to allow employees time to (optionally) move their vehicles. 4. Contractor must ensure direction of mowing does not blow clippings into athletics surfaces (ballfields, tennis/basketball courts, skate rinks) or bodies of water. No grass clippings or any other material shall be swept/blown into any water body. 5. Although the main purpose of this service is to accomplish mowing maintenance as described herein, the Contractor may from time to time encounter maintenance activities not outlined in this bid but will be necessary to achieve the desired end results. As such times, the Contractor shall furnish hand or mechanical means to accomplish the necessary activity. Completed work shall be satisfactorily accomplished as determined by the City Parks & Facilities Department, regardless of the efforts required by the Contractor to achieve the specified quality. 6. No out-of-scope services shall be provided in the absence of prior written authorization in the form of a supplemental agreement and issuance of an appropriate amendment to the contract and/or with a purchase order. 7. Additional services may be requested by the City on an "as needed" basis, that will be compensated for at a contracted hourly rate.
