A. The Project consists of the following general activities as described in the Construction Documents and Project Manual for D128 Vernon Hills Summer 2024 Renovations, located in Vernon Hills, Illinois for Community High School District 128. B. The work of the Project shall include all labor, material, and equipment to provide complete installation of all work including all code required devices and functions that may not specifically be indicated in this Project Manual. 1. The work includes (not to be taken as a complete description or extent of the work) as follows a. Selective demolition of ceilings, walls, finishes b. selective demolition and replacement of existing suspended acoustical and painted gypsum board ceiling system and lighting; reinstallation of electrical devices and HVAC grilles and equipment to remain c. selective demolition and replacement of existing piping and fittings d. selective demolition and replacement of existing HVAC ductwork and controls e. new fire protection, fixtures, electrical and HVAC work f. new finishes and patching of walls, and ceilings Failure to attend and sign in at the pre-bid conference and site inspections shall result in the rejection of any bids submitted by those non-attending Contractors. This will be the only time that the Contractors shall be allowed escorted access to the project site. The Board of Education, Community High School District128 reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts there of, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the School District. All Bidders must comply with Illinois Revised Statutes,1981, Chapter 48, Section 39s-1 through 39s-12, requiring the payment of prevailing wage rates to all laborers, workmen and mechanics working on publicly-funded projects. If during the time period of work, these rates change, the contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount.
