Renovation of an educational facility in Stony Brook, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Stony Brook University Hospital intends to make an award for the above noted commodity, product and/or service. A sealed bid will be held. If you are interested in providing a proposal for the above commodity/product and/or service, you must contact the appropriate designated Campus contact in this Advertisement Notice. The main features of the work to be done under the Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents shall include, but not be limited to the following: The work to be done under the Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents, consists of furnishing and installing all materials, equipment, labor and incidentals necessary or convenient for the construction of Project Number 24101, titled Repair of HSC Loading Dock and carry out all of the duties and obligations imposed upon the Contractor by the Contract Documents. The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1. Overview Loading dock Angle repair, Metal stair refinishing, 19 column covers install, and various painting/waterproofing, ceiling removal, soffit construction, Firecote and seal, bird control, demo and install new sprinklers on loading dock and add sprinklers over dumpsters and construction storage cage providing hydronic calculations/plans. 2. Scope of Work Replace existing loading dock angle -Approx. 100 LF Paint loading dock angle and wall -Approx. 150 LF Replace existing loading dock Bumpers -31 EA (see attached for material pricing) Paint existing handrail for stairs, and ramp. -Approx. 75 LF Patch loading dock concrete missing next to angle -Approx. 30 CF Stair #1 refurbishing Remove rust from existing stairs Paint coating existing stairs-5 Rungs with kickplate Install new pre-fabricated stair tread, pin to existing -5 Rungs with kickplate. Stair #2 refurbishing/replacement (In worse shape may need to replace) Remove rust from existing stairs Paint coating existing stairs-5 Rungs with kickplate Install new pre-fabricated stair tread, pin to existing -5 Rungs with kickplate Replacement estimated as an Alternate Remove existing pre-fabricated stairs Install new pre-fabricated stairs (aluminum) Column Panel Install Install pre-fabricated steel panel to cover existing damaged colums-45"H x 20" W x 11" D. Total 8 Full 3 Half columns- Each full column will need two panels. Paint existing columns and new steel panels (yellow)- 11EA Ceiling removal Removal of Shotcrete ceiling approx. 15,050 sq. ft Removal of black iron Removal of tie wires Support/Re-support existing infrastructure; electrical, cameras, ductwork, etc. Vertical Wall Enclosure, Soffit Install new soffit to match existing. Fire proofing and Sealing of Exposed Steel Apply Cafco Bond Sealer Type EBS to all exposed fireproofing throughout Application to strictly follow manufacturer's specifications and guidelines Includes all area protection and clean up All work to meet NYS building codes Patch all fireproofing where missing or damaged throughout Loading Dock where plaster ceiling panels have been removed All fireproofing repair to match existing thickness and material Includes all area protection and clean up. Bird Control Install new soffit to match existing approx. 1250 sq. ft Type: Knotless, extruded and pre-stretched nets. Nets are to be both seamless and borderless for clean edges and easier perimeter fastening. Opening: 1/2 " (1.3 cm) square. Width: 14'(4.2 m) Lengths -50'(15.2 m), 100'(30.4 m), 250'(76.2 m) and 3,000'(914.4 m). Average strength -10 lbs. per strand (4.5 kg). Average strand count -2 per inch. Weight: 8.5 lbs. (3.8 kg) per 1,000 square feet Melting point (approximately): 320+ degrees F. Flash point (approximately): 625 degrees F. Warranty: 5-year limited warranty. Fire Sprinklers Demo existing sprinklers on loading dock Provide hydronic calculations, shop drawings and plans, signed and sealed drawings. Install new dry system to loading dock, dumpster area and construction cage. RFI due date has been moved from Thursday February 8, 2024 to Friday February 16, 2024 at 5:00PM & RFI's responses due date has been moved from Thursday February 15, 2024 to Thursday February 22, 2024 at 5:00pm
