**As of April 19, 2024, the project was awarded to Total Habitat for the amount of $112,515.00.** The City of Emporia David Traylor Zoo is requesting proposals to replace the renovate the Bald Eagle exhibit plumbing and rockwork located at 60 Soden Road. The City will allow for renovation of the current plumbing system or a total reconstruction of the pond/waterfall. There are currently concrete rocks embedded within concrete that will need to be replaced or patched prior to the application of any new materials. Exhibit netting will need to be removed for access and reattached at the end of the project. Proposals should include the following:
Bald Eagle Exhibit
o Process (renovation of exhibit/pond/waterfall plumbing)
o Process (renovation of concrete rock work to match existing)
o Material (paint color must match or be comparable to existing)
o Post inspection by Zoo management to ensure proper installation Schedule and Warranty
o Working days needed to complete the project
o Material warranty (must be at least 1 year)
o Certificate of Insurance for Commercial General Liability Coverage for $2m for each occurrence and $1m per person for any injury to persons and not less than $500k per occurrence for property damage. Certificate of Insurance shall name the City of Emporia as an additional insured.
o Workmanship warranty (must be at least five (5) years) The City pays for materials received on or near the tenth (10th) day of the following month after delivery of goods or services, unless otherwise stated in the specifications. The City reserves the right to assess a late penalty of up to 2 percent per day, unless otherwise specified, if the commodity or service is not delivered within the time period agreed upon. The City reserves the right to award bids to local vendors if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City
