The Town of East Hartford seeks to enter into contracts with qualified firms to provide tree cutting, brush clearing, and chipping services. Firms must be skilled and experienced in working with municipalities in Connecticut and possess thorough knowledge of arborist practices. It is the Town's intent to enter into contracts with selected firms to provide services on an as-needed ("on-call") basis. The Town will have sole discretion as to which projects, if any, will be assigned to the selected contractors. Required services will vary depending on the task/project. Firms must be able to provide, or obtain, services that include, but are not limited to: 1. Tree pruning utilizing bucket trucks or climbers. Pruning must be conducted by a licensed arborist. 2. Tree removal utilizing bucket trucks and/or climbers. Contractors must be able to employ proper means and methods to safely remove trees in a variety of settings including locations: a. close to/overhanging buildings, b. in close proximity to power/utility lines, c. in open fields, d. in wooded areas, and e. in building courtyards. 3. Removal and disposal of all tree debris from site. Redistribution of wood chips on site may be allowed at the discretion of the Town of East Hartford. 4. Stump grinding 5. Tree health evaluations and recommendations 6. Coordination with Town Tree Wardens to ensure all legal requirements surrounding tree removal are met.
