The general nature of the work is as follows: For the portion of Work at Grant Ragan Elementary, 645 NEDartmoor Dr., Waukee: This portion includes the removal of approximately 2,300 SYof existingplaygroundmulch,and rubber surfaces; the placement of approximately 20,760 SF of syntheticplaygroundsurfacing with rock base; and the placement of new subdrain. And for the portion of the Work at Maple Grove Elementary, 1455 98thSt., West DesMoines: This portion includes the removal of approximately 450 SY of existingplaygroundmulchand rubber surfaces; the placement of approximately 4,100 SF of syntheticplaygroundsurfacing with rock base; the placement of new subdrain. The sites will be available starting June 3, 2024 for commencement of work. TheworkatMaple Grove Elementary must be substantially complete on July 19, 2024, andtheworkatGrant Ragan must be substantially complete on August 2, 2024. Final completionof bothportions shall be by September 27, 2024. Each Bidder shall accompany the Bid with a Bid security, in a separate envelope, assecuritythatthe successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnishafter the award of the contract corporate surety bond or bonds, acceptable to the Owner, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equivalent to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equivalent to 5% of the bid amount, and shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. The bid security will be held by the Owner until a contract is fully executed and bonds are approved by the Owner. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and waive informalities in Bidding.
