The recreation area provides of hiking, biking and fishing around the North and South Catamount Reservoirs. The Limber Pine Trial improves will provide improved trail connection on singletrack trail through the recreation area. The new trail will provide a unique trail experience with stunning viewsheds, wilderness interactions and new non-motorized trail connectivity within the area. A trails' contractor is solicited to build this trail deploying low-impact methods using hand-built and or/machine-built techniques to complete a finished trail. Project Scope of Work Work to be completed under this contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, to construct the natural surface trails identified within this request for proposal. The Limber Pine Trail includes two segments of trail connecting from existing sections of the Limber Pine Trail and the utility road. The trail is designated as non-motorized recreational trails open to hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use rated at an Intermediate skill level (Blue). The Limber Pine Trail project is divided into two segments for the descriptions. The conditions, soil, slope, aspect and vegetation are similar. The East Segment is slightly more open with less trees per acre with a fuel mitigation project several years ago. Contractor to install a total of 4 carsointe signposts, provided by the City. The posts will be installed at each end of each trail segment. Locations to be marked in the field. Posts to be installed to a depth of 20". West Alignment This alignment, estimated at 2,353 LF will provide a reroute to the of a steep section of existing trail. The trail contours the hillside descending to the utility road. The trail passes through a few locations with larger fieldstones, all workable with trail equipment. The rocks should be incorporated into the trail tread when possible. The tree density is light to moderate with minimal tree removal anticipated. East Alignment Segment 2, estimated at 3,580 LF is a new trail segment east of the Utility Road. This new trail will establish a new singletrack trail so trail users no longer need to utilize the gravel road. This segment passes through a more robust mitigation project from many years ago. The tree spacing is less frequent, and more grasses slopes and low growing vegetation. The trail will tie into the existing Limber Pine Trail along the shoreline of South Catamount Reservoir. These trail segments specific sites are identified on the Project Map. The trails will be nonmotorized recreational use on the multi-use trails and are anticipated with an approximated breakdown at 60% bikes, 40% hikers. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
