Reference Number 0000340650 Job Location: WCR 38 Bridge over Mead Lateral Canal Question Deadline 02/09/2024 at 5:00 PM MT Questions are submitted online Yes, Questions will be accepted via email to Robyn Brown, Deputy Town Engineer, rbrown@townofmead.org This work shall consist of the replacement of the steel corrugated deck on the WCR 38 bridge over the Mead Lateral Canal in Mead Colorado. The Town of Mead is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to replace the steel corrugated deck on the WCR 38 bridge over the Mead Lateral Canal (CDOT Structure No. WEL038.0- 009.0A). This work consists of removal of the existing steel corrugated deck and installation of a new steel corrugated deck while protecting the bridge railings in-place. The deck will be affixed to the girders with steel deck clips. Construction of the new deck also includes welding of adjacent deck panel seams, installation of abutment end dams, installation of side dams, installation of a bituminous base course in the deck pans and installation of a gravel riding surface on top of the bituminous, graded to a create a smooth transition with the existing approach roadways. Falsework will be placed between girder bottom flanges prior to construction to prevent debris from falling into the channel. Bridge railings will be repaired, as required, based on their condition at the time of construction. Quantities and a location map will be provided along with contracts, agreements and schedules for the work. The removal of the existing deck is considered a lump sum item (any required excavation and backfill required for removal of the existing deck is considered incidental). The installation of the new steel corrugated deck planks, deck clips, dams, deck plank seam welds, falsework to prevent debris from falling into the channel, and pourable sealant at deck rail post blockouts will also be considered lump sum. Remaining items will be unit cost items (bituminous base course in the deck pans, gravel riding surface bladed to match the approaches, rail repairs, mobilization, and traffic control). Each line-item cost shall contain all associated costs to complete that item, including all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, haul, mobilization, and environmental or fuel/surcharge fees necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Project Construction Documents and the current CDOT and Town of Mead Design Standards and Construction Specifications No Bid will be received unless accompanied by a cashier's, certified or bank check or a Bid Bond equal to at least ten percent of the maximum Bid, payable to the OWNER as a guarantee that after a Bid is accepted, Bidder will execute and file the Agreement and 100% Performance andPayment Bonds within ten days after the Notice of Award. The Town of Mead reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 30 days after the time set for opening Bids.
