All questions must be submitted in writing via website March 11, 2024 Estimated contract start date Fort Lewis College invites all interested, qualified persons or firms, capable of providing labor and materials to crack fill, sealcoat, patch and stripe asphalt parking lots and roadways on campus. It is the intent of the College to negotiate an annual contract, renewable for up to four (4) annual renewals for parking lot and roadway maintenance of the work available at time of award. Fort Lewis College is accepting proposals from qualified firms to provide labor and materials to patch, crack fill, sealcoat and stripe asphalt parking lots and roadways on the Fort Lewis College (FLC) campus. Fort Lewis College reserves the right to Reject any or all offers and discontinue the RFP process without obligation or liability to any potential Vendor. SCOPE OF WORK 1. FLC typically seals 3 - 4 large parking lots, stripes 5 - 10 parking lots, performs miscellaneous patching, crack filling, striping, and painting to include curbs, roadways, roadway lines and stencils. 2. Annual amount of work offered is not guaranteed and is based upon estimated needs by colleges representative and budget available. 3. FLC does not close campus and parking lots are in use throughout the year. The colleges representative and the selected contractor will collaborate to determine scheduling and sequencing of the work. Traditionally this work is performed between May and August. 4. Daily schedule must be considered when scheduling work, selected contractor and college representative will collaborate to find optimal times to perform work. Work noise may be limited around occupied residential areas. 5. Worksite area closures shall be minimized to the extent possible with work being completed in a timely manner. Multiple area closures shall be minimized, when possible, to accommodate parking demands. 6. Contractor shall provide all equipment necessary to perform all work along with traffic control, barriers, and signage to secure work areas. 7. Products used will meet D5078, D977, D6690 and ASTM D-5329 and ASTM D-2939 as applicable. Prior to work the contractor shall submit product data to the college for approval. 8. All surfaces shall be prepared in accordance with product manufacturers requirements prior to application. All materials shall be applied in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Sealing material will be applied by spray method and shall include two coats. When sealing all adjacent surfaces shall be protected from overspray. 9. All work shall be performed according to industry standards and best practices for commercial work 10. Pricing: Contractor will provide pricing forthe following in their submittal for current year contract. Annual renewals will be negotiated prior to the renewal term. 1. Crack sealing to be hot applied crack seal cost per linear foot 2. Parking lot seal coating per square foot with two coats being spray applied. 3. Striping , painting, stenciling per square foot 4. Infrared asphalt patching per square foot 5. Mastic asphalt repair per cubic foot and/or lbs. 6. Remove and replace asphalt hot patching per cubic foot 7. Hourly labor rates 8. Mobilization fee 9.
