Renovation of a conference / convention center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.
Questions Due: February 14, 2024 All bidders, including subcontractors, with bids in excess of $50,000 must be prequalified through the Kalamazoo County responsible bidder program. Responsible Bidders Applications are only good for one year. Responsible Bidder forms can be found on the website The County Expo Center is a 100,000 sq. ft. multi use expo, meeting, and event facility. Annually over 250 events are held. The building was constructed in multiple phases. The proposed projects include replacing all HVAC equipment and controls in the Room A building and support spaces that are part of the overall complex of buildings. The purpose of this project is to replace a chilled water and steam to hot water boiler system with new grade mounted packaged gas and DX rooftop units (RTU) and a high efficiency boiler, AHU, and roof mounted condensing unit. New rooftop units will require gas piping and pads. Demolition of heating water system is included in the scope of work to include the boiler, pumps, piping, accessories, and terminal devices including radiation heat, unit heaters, and a makeup air unit.
