Renovation of an educational facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of 4/09/2024: Pending approval for awarded bidder is on April 25, 2024. PN-MPID-0016242, b9a2301, 17810-LV The Comprehensive Modernization of William Lummis Elementary School includes but is not limited to, the replacement of the HVAC equipment, EMS/BAS control system, new ER/TR buildout, remove and replace cast iron plumbing vent pipes, plumbing fixtures and water heaters and refurbish restrooms. Existing lighting to be removed and replaced with LED light fixtures. Upgrade all low voltage systems, such as security CCTV, intrusion detection, WIFI, etc., and recover of existing build-up roofs with 80 mil PVC. In addition, all doors and hardware will be removed and replaced. Existing ceilings to be removed and replaced throughout, high traffic areas to be repainted in addition various classrooms will need to be repainted to cover previous surface mounted devices that were demolished. Exterior scope of work includes re-caulk and paint of building exterior areas. Prequalified Bidders shall have a Nevada Contractor's License with the Classification of AB, B or B-2. The construction cost estimate for the project is: $21,190,967.00 Pre-Qualified Prime Bidders will need to email Teresa Torix at torixtl@nv.ccsd.net to request the invitation for the digital bid documents through CCSD's Bluebeam document viewer tool with instruction on how to view and print the Bid documents. Pre-Bid conference: Late telephone/visual arrivals may not be eligible to bid as a Prime Contractor. Bidders must provide their most current letter of pre-qualification issued by the Clark County School District and all information listed in Part 5 of Document 00 21 13 - Instructions to Bidders. These documents should be emailed in advance of the meeting to Teresa Torix at torixtl@nv.ccsd.net. HVAC SYSTEM . Remove all existing water source heat pump units and related piping, controls and ductwork. . Remove existing boiler, hydronic pumps, fluid cooler and chemical treatment station. . Provide new V.R.V. / V.R.F. with reheat option. . Provide new rooftop package heat pump units. . Remove and replace existing exhaust fans. . Provide new relief exhaust fans. CONTROLS . Remove and replace the existing electronic system. . Provide space pressure sensors to maintain building pressure. MISCELLANEOUS WORK . Remove existing ductless fan coil units. . Provide new ductless fan coil unit for each TR Room . Provide two split ductless units for ER Room. PLUMBING . Provide tempered water to classroom sinks. . Remove and replace water heaters. . Provide new mixing valve stations and circulating pumps for all water heaters. . Remove and replace / add hot & return water piping. . Replace classroom sinks faucets. . Replace all mop sinks. . Replace exterior wall hydrants and remove existing gas piping. ROOF l . The existing roof consists of a granular surfaced built-up roof system over E.P.S. insulation over steel deck. Approximately 4" thick. . Replace base flashing, skylights, all sealant , flashing, wood blocking, C.M.U. control joints, all access ladders and roof hatches. . Recover the entire existing roof system with new single-ply membrane roofing system. ELECTRICAL / LOW VOLTAGE . The facility is being served by a 500KVA utility transformer that feeds a 1600A, 480Y/277V switchboard, with AIC rating of 50KA, located in the main electric room. . The main switchboard feeds a 200A motor control center MCC located in boiler room. This MCC will be removed as part the recommendations of the design scope of work. . The above-described equipment is from the original construction in 1992 (29 years old). The equipment appears to be in good-working conditions and replacement and/or upgrade is not recommended due to age. . Not anticipating that a power capacity upgrade will be needed during this HVAC upgrade. HVAC SYSTEM ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS . The HVAC system be replaced in its entirety. This consists of cooling tower and pumps, boiler and pumps, water source Heat Pumps throughout facility and any roof mounted DX systems and exhaust fans. . The new system will consist of VRV/VRF system (roof top units and fan coils). LIGHTING SYSTEM . All interior and exterior lighting will be replaced with new LED lighting. ELECTRICAL ROOFTOP SYSTEMS . A few small-size miscellaneous conduit runs on roof top that will be examined for removal and placement of new conduit above ceiling. . No new conduits will be installed on the rooftop as result of the new recommended work. ACCESS CONTROL. . Provide infrastructure (conduit/pathways and wiring) for installation of future access control system. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM . Tthe existing fire alarm system is obsolete. A new fire alarm system including a shelter-in-place system to be installed. INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM . The Intrusion Detection System is obsolete and shall be replaced with a new system. VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM . The Video surveillance system is obsolete and shall be replaced with a new system. NETWORKING SYSTEM . The school needs LAN/VoIP/WLAN upgrade. . ER/TR rooms: To provide a complete networking system upgrade, security video surveillance, intrusion detection and clock/intercom systems upgrade, ER/TR rooms shall also be upgraded to new standards to accommodate all new equipment for these systems. CLOCK/INTERCOMM SYSTEM . The existing clock/intercom system is no longer manufactured and supported. The clock/intercom system is to be replaced. PLUMBING . Plumbing includes new proposed lines, proposed pipe bursts, proposed CIPP Liner, proposed dig and replace, proposed jetted line, proposed replace in wall with epoxy coat cast iron, and proposed point repair issues throughout the school. EXTERIOR . Replace all skylights, remove unused existing antennas, sealants at roof drains, stucco repair, CMU cracking and control joints, touchup painting at various surfaces, sealant at various joints, access ladders, roof access hatches and exterior doors to be replaced. Add rooftop cross-over stairs and fall-protection where needed. . There are (4) areas of building expansion for the new E.R. & T.R. Rooms INTERIOR . Replace the acoustical ceiling tile and suspended lay-in grid system (throughout), flooring/base/paint in select areas, corner guard replacement, interior skylight cover replacement, interior door hardware, new door at mechanical room, added structure to accommodate new HVAC units, and new concrete curbing. . The remodel of all public Restrooms and Classroom sinks/millwork will be needed due to interior plumbing that needs to be replaced inside these spaces. . Some millwork will require demolition & re-building. All existing millwork that can remain will be re-finished on the exteior side only. DOORS . Replace all door hardware and all hollow metal doors throughout the property, both interior and exterior. All hollow metal frames are to remain.
