All questions concerning this bid shall be submitted directly in the City of Springfield Vendor Bids Portal. The deadline for questions is Monday, February 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Responses to questions proposed will be answered within seven days, not including weekends or holidays. If required, a written response in the form of an addendum will be issued, bidders must review, sign and acknowledge the addendum and provide it with their proposal(s). Replace existing CWLP owned lead service lines and customer owned lead or galvanized water service lines from existing main to existing residential home. 1. Excavate existing water main in roadway or parkway. 2. Excavate at existing meter pit or curb stop location between sidewalk and curb (remove concrete sidewalk if needed). 3. Make 1" or 3/4 " tap on existing cast iron water main and pull new 1" or 3/4 " UW24-01-79 Lead Service Line Emergency Replacements FY2025/26 49 of 86 January 30, 2024 type k copper behind existing lead line. 4. Install new 1" or 3/4 " copper setter and meter pit if needed. 5. Backfill roadway with trench backfill and temporary surface over trench. 6. Barricade or backfill excavation at meter pit and leave for contractor. 1. Replace customer's lead or galvanized service line with 1" or 3/4 " type k copper from meter pit into existing home (18" maximum inside home from foundation wall). 2. Install 1" or 3/4 " brass ball valve and connect to existing plumbing within 18" of interior foundation wall. 3. Repair basement wall and flush air out of household plumbing. 4. Sidewalk and roadway repairs as needed. This includes removing CWLP's temporary surface over trench within the roadway, driveway or sidewalk and installing permanent roadway, driveway or sidewalk patch and replace curb as needed. 5. Surface restoration of yard. Note: If customer's line is not lead or galvanized, contractor scope will only include items #4 & #5.
