Project Description Construction of Tolling Facilities Between Milepost 180.00 and Milepost 236.00 in Huntingdon, Franklin, and Cumberland Counties This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary to erect four (4) tolling facilities, including gantry structures and concrete utility buildings, complete and operable, maintenance and protection of traffic, and asphalt pavement. Major Work Items 3,615 CY Excavation, Various Classes (Including Over-excavation, Non-anticipated Excavated Sinkhole Plug and Lump Sum Break Down) 941 CY Structure Backfill (Lump Sum Break Down) 1,610 TON Subbase (No. 2A) (Including Subbase Under Guide Rail) 2,673 TON Superpave Asphalt Materials (Binder & Wearing Courses) 2,625.5 LF Guide Rail, Type 31-S 5,669 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier 564 CY Cement Concrete, Various Classes (Including Cast In Place and Precast) 170,560 LB Fabricated Structural Steel, Various Grades 88,124 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 59 LF Drilled Caissons, Shaft Section in Soil 50 LF Drilled Caissons, Shaft Section in Rock Milepost 185.04 is located approximately 3.96 miles west of the Willow Hill Interchange, Exit 189, in HuntingdonCounty, Pennsylvania. Milepost 233.05 islocated approximately 2.95 miles west of the Gettysburg Pike Interchange, Exit 236, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure.
