Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fremont, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The City of Fremont proposes to conduct roadway improvements and upgrades along Thornton Avenue from Dondero Way / San Pedro Dr. to Fremont Boulevard, Fremont Boulevard from Alder Avenue to Mattos Drive, and Peralta Boulevard from Fremont Boulevard to Sequoia Road. Along Thornton Avenue, travel lanes will be narrowed in order to install bicycle detection sensors, buffered bike lanes, pedestrian countdown lights and accessible push buttons at all signals. Around the vicinity of Thornton Junior High School, pedestrian improvements will be constructed which will consist of installing curb extensions, new crosswalks with a new signal, and ADA curb ramps. Additionally, roadway pavement will be restriped, including the installation of green skip striping through conflict zones. The same improvements will be constructed along Fremont Boulevard, with the addition of adding on-street parking between Thornton Avenue and Bonde Way, as well as landscape and streetscape improvements. Street improvements on Peralta Boulevard will include reducing the street section to one lane in each direction from its intersection with Fremont Boulevard to Sequoia Road. Left turn pockets, and buffered bike lanes will be added. Additional improvements along Peralta Boulevard will include closing any sidewalk gaps, upgrading curb ramps to meet current ADA standards, and preserving parking on both sides of the street near its intersection with Sequoia Road. Pavement rehabilitation work will be included as needed. All work will be conducted within the local right-of-way, in Fremont, Alameda County.
