Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
1. 70 SY of pavement removal and replacement for conduit boring operations -interior and exterior. 2. 840 LF of trenchless 2-way conduit for electric and communications conduits. 3. 430 LF of trenched 2-way conduit for electric and communications conduits. 4. Establishing a new primary electric feed to Concourse A and Concourse C of the existing Terminal: a. Demolition of existing electrical cable in existing conduits in and adjacent to existing terminal. b. Relay of new electrical cable in new and existing conduits in and adjacent to existing terminal. c. Three (3) separate electrical demolition and electrical installation phases required to fully establish the new electrical feed, occurring late October through mid December, 2024. 5. Installation of double swinging doors at existing louver at Concourse A. 6. Installation of communication fiber cable between Building #5 and Baggage Claim. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract corporate Surety Performance and Payment Bond(s), in a form acceptable to the Board, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the Bid and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bond on the form provided in the Contract Documents with corporate Surety satisfactory to the Board. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Work on the improvements shall be commenced any time after a written Notice to Proceed is issued and shall be completed as stated below. The Notice to Proceed will be issued after the preconstruction conference, which is expected to occur by June 1, 2024 Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish corporate Surety Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. All civil construction associated with the project must be complete no later than August 24, 2024. All electric construction associated with the project shall be fully completed no later than December 15, 2024, and may not start prior to October 28, 2024 due to work from separate electrical projects must be completed. The Des Moines Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the Authority. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the Work is between $510,000 and $600,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
