The purpose of this Prequalification process is to establish a list of Prequalified General Contractor eligible to participate and submit bids for request for tenders or proposals for select Construction Projects (new or renovation) administered by the City of Hamilton's Facilities Management Division. The evaluation criteria shown is meant to provide a standard quality for managerial and technical capability as many construction projects commence near residential neighbourhoods, recreational areas (i.e., parks or public gathering areas) and the process requires due diligence and effective controls with the aim to minimize risk to all stakeholders involved. The City makes no representations as to the volume of Construction Projects available. Inclusion on the prequalification list does not guarantee that any prequalified Applicant will be awarded a Project or will be requested to participate in select subsequent request for tenders or proposals. Applicant's selected will be eligible to bid on the City's Construction Projects for a period of three (3) years. This RFPQ will apply to Construction Projects estimated to be above $100,000, in accordance with the City's Procurement By-Law No. 20-205. Currently, for the year 2024, Corporate Facilities & Energy Management's (CFEM) approved funding for capital recreation and corporate facilities is approximately $6,075,000.00, with additional projects funded through different internal City client groups (Hamilton Fire, Hamilton Police Services, Hamilton Public Library, etc.). The CFEM Division estimates an annual budget for Recreation and Corporate facilities in future years of to range from approximately $4,500,000.00 to $6,000,000.00.
