The work to be performed shall be accomplished in one (1) Division of work and shall consist of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for the installation of water system improvements as described below: Shaw Water Lines Improvements: The installation of approximately 940 LF of 4" PVC, C900 water line, approximately 2,800 LF of 6" PVC, C900 water line, one post hydrant, two fire hydrants, associated pavement and driveway repairs, sediment and erosion control facilities, and other associated appurtenances for a complete and proper installation. Bidders must be on the Engineer's official plan holders list. Bidders must be legally qualified, on the date of the bid, under the provisions of the South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Law (South Carolina Code of Laws as amended on April 1, 1999, Chapter 11, Sections 40-11-10 through 40-11-428). Bidders must have a Contractor's classification of WL. Bidders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Provisions of the security shall be as described in the Instructions for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bidder's Rights: Any prospective bidder, offer, or contractor or subcontractor who is aggrieved in connection with the solicitation of this contract may protest to Owner in accordance with Section 11-35-4210 of the SC Code of Laws, within 7 days of the date of issuance of the Intent to Award. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.
