Questions requesting clarification of the bid must be submitted in writing to the Procurement Officer Before the end of the day, on Friday, February 16th 2024 Work involves installing footings, posts and removing and erecting signs on I-35 for the Intermodal Facility and Logistics Park in Johnson County. Add signing on I-35 in advance of Exit 205 for Homestead Lane and on I-35 southbound in advance of Exit 207 for Gardner Rd. Sign installations are on southbound and northbound I-35 at various locations. Installation is for the following signs: see attached plans sheets for location details: Site 1/I-35 Northbound (Exit 205) E3-1 (Intermodal Facility & Logistics Park KC Via Homestead Lane) sign with E1-5 (205) exit number sign to be located 1,000' north of the E1-3 (Homestead Lane_1 1/4 Miles) sign. The E3-1 sign is to be installed on two (2) W10x22 (A36) or two (2) W10x12 (A572). The E1-5 sign is installed above the E3-1 sign with three (3) aluminum beams. Site 2/I-35 Southbound (Exit 205) E3-1 (Intermodal Facility & Logistics Park KC Via Homestead Lane) sign with E1-5 (205) exit number sign to be located 1,320' south of the E1-3 (Homestead Lane_1 1/4 Miles) sign. The E3-1 sign is to be installed on two (2) W10x22 (A36) or two (2) W10x12 (A572). The E1-5 sign is installed above the E3-1 sign with three (3) aluminum beams. Site 3/I-35 Southbound Exit Ramp (Ramp 'C') Remove D1-1 (191st Street with right arrow) sign and D1-2 (Edgerton with right arrow, Homestead Ln with left and right arrows) sign and the steel posts. Note: the footings are to remain. Install new D1-4 (207th St with left arrow and Edgerton, Homestead Ln, and 191st Street with right arrow) on new W6x9 (A572) steel beam posts on the existing footings to match the original grade of A572. NOTE: W6x9 (A36) grade of steel may be used. The existing brace bar on the back of the posts may be reused if not damaged. Site 4/I-35 Northbound Exit Ramp (Ramp 'B') Remove D1-1 (191st Street with left arrow) sign and D1-2 (Edgerton with left arrow, Homestead Ln with left and right arrows) sign and the steel posts. Note: the footings are to remain. Install new D1-4 (Edgerton, Homestead Ln, and 191st Street with left arrow and 207th St with right arrow) on new W6x9 (A572) steel beam posts on the existing footings to match the original grade of A572. NOTE: W6x9 (A36) grade of steel may be used. The existing brace bar on the back of the posts may be reused if not damaged. Site 5/I-35 Southbound (Exit 207) E3-1 (Intermodal Facility & Logistics Park KC Exit 205) sign located 800' south of the E1-3 (Gardner Rd_1 1/4 Miles) sign. The E3-1 sign is to be installed on two (2) W10x12 (A36) or two (2) W10x12 (A572). Signs will be furnished by KDOT and available at the Olathe KDOT Shop 1290 S. Enterprise, Olathe, KS. All Signs, posts and materials that are to be removed as part of this project by the contractor will become property of the contractor. The signs will be installed in conformance with the applicable KDOT standard drawings and specifications, TE 463, and TE 464. Electronic shop drawings shall be submitted for review prior to fabrication. Notification of changes, comments or approval will be sent back to the Fabrication Company and contractor. Approval of shop drawings must be received before commencing work. Total bid price will be based on quantities shown. All other materials, fasteners, labor, and equipment necessary to erect the signs will be subsidiary to the bid items noted. Reinforcing steel for the signpost foundations are considered subsidiary to other items in the contract.
