Site work and new construction of a detention facility in Elkford, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 7,500-square-foot detention facility.
The proposed institutional building will be designed to replace the existing health centre building in downtown Elkford. The details of this structure are to be determined in consultation with the Kootenay East Regional Hospital District and Interior Health Authority. The floor space requirement has an approximate limit of 7,500 square feet. TIMELINE: Request for proposals from qualified proponents to provide architectural design services to schematic design phase is closed. Preferred proponent is unreleased. Further update in late 2026, upon approvals.
