This project includes fence removal, tree removal, root pruning, installation of security fencing with related preparatory grading, structures and appurtenances, at the Downers Drive water tower property maintained by the Village. The Contractor shall schedule their work such that all improvements shall be complete by Friday, July 26th, 2024. The completion date will remain binding throughout the duration of the Contract unless revised in writing by the Village. A bid deposit will be required, which shall not exceed ten percent (10%) of the estimated cost of the work to be furnished. Such bid deposit shall be in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cash, or money order. Checks shall be drawn upon a bank of good standing payable to the order of the Village and said deposit shall be forfeited to the Village in the event the Bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a contract and bond when required, with approved sureties, to execute the Work or furnish the material for the price mentioned in their Bid and according to the plans and specifications in case the contract shall be awarded to them. Questions may be posed in writing to the Village (faxed and emailed questions are acceptable), but must be received by the Village prior to the scheduled time for the pre-bid conference. Questions received will be considered at the conference. An addendum may be issued as a result of the pre bid conference. Such an addendum is subject to the provisions for issuance of an addendum as set forth in Section 2.5 above SCOPE OF WORK This project shall consist of the removal and replacement of approximately 380 LF of 8’ chain-link fence at the Downers Drive Water Tower site (Common address 4414 Downers Drive) in the Village of Downers Grove, including brush clearing along fence and all other collateral work such as erosion control and landscape restoration as needed. See Exhibit 1 on Page 54. The Village of Downers Grove reserves the right to add or eliminate sections of this contract, based upon favorable or un-favorable bid pricing that may be received and budgetary restrictions. Description: This bid consists of the installation of approximately 380 lineal feet, 8 foot tall security fencing with vertical privacy slats, related preparatory grading, structures and appurtenances, fence removal, root pruning, Portland cement concrete foundations, and tree removal. The Village does not guarantee the exact location or identification of utilities & utility services shown on plans and exhibits. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to verify all utility and utility service locations and crossings.
