2024/02/23 02:00:00 PM EST The Contract contemplated under this Invitation to Tender (ITT) would be for a term of three (3) years commencing on May 1, 2024, with two (2) one-year options to renew at Ingenium's sole discretion. The Corporation is seeking Tenders from qualified Hard & Soft Surface Grounds Maintenance Operations Contractors located within 50 km of the National Capital Region with at least eight (8) years experience in Hard and Soft Surface Grounds Maintenance.
The Work covered under this Invitation to Tender (ITT) is limited to the Canada Science and Technology Museum site as well as the Ingenium Centre site which could be referred to as the Science Park, as follows:
- The Canada Science and Technology Museum, 1867 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa, - The Ingenium Centre, 1865 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa,
These facilities house approximately 200 employees, and the Museum itself hosts an average of 400,000 visitors a year. In addition, Facility Rentals, Special Events, Evening and Overnight Programs and outside activities are scheduled throughout the year. Accordingly, it is critical that the site be maintained 7 days a week to the highest standard both for aesthetic reasons and to ensure safe, unimpeded pedestrian and vehicular access to the properties. Bidders must submit with their Tender a Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Contract value. The Contract value is the value of the Contract and is the three-year amount set out in the Bid, exclusive of Taxes. Bidders are also required to include a Consent of Surety letter along with their bid, serving as documentation for bonding to the Corporation. This letter should confirm the commitment of 50% Contract Performance and 50% Labour and Material of the year 1 amount, renewable yearly. If bidders plan to utilize an irrevocable letter of credit from a reputable Canadian financial institution or a certified cheque as a substitute for the material and labor bond, they must clearly indicate such intentions and their capacities to do so in their submission envelope 1. The Contractor shall, at his/her own expense, procure and maintain in force for the duration of the Contract Commercial General Liability insurance, with a minimum limit of five million dollars ($5,000,000.00) in Canadian funds including coverage for personal injury, bodily injury (including death) and property damage for any one occurrence or series of occurrences arising from one cause, no aggregate, and with a maximum deductible of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00). The policy shall provide coverage for, but not be limited to, all premises and operations of the Contractor, owned and non-owned automobile, contractual liability and liability specifically assumed under the Contract. The Corporation shall be added to the policy as an additional insured and the policy shall contain a cross- liability clause.
