Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered Construction of Bartow County Water System Improvements The Project Will Consist of Providing All Labor, Tools, Equipment and Incidentals Necessary for Furnishing and Installing a Metered Water Connection to an Existing 16-inch Ductile Iron Watermain Including: One (1) 16-inch Cutin Connection; One (1) Metering Vault With Owner-furnished 10-inch Meter; One (1) Backflow Prevention Vault; All With Related Piping, Fittings, Thrust Blocking, Valves, Appurtenances, and Incidentals, Including Hydrostatic Testing, Flushing, Disinfection, Traffic Control, Erosion Control, Grassing, Restoration, and Clean-up for a Complete and Operational Water Service Connection. The Project Will Be Funded by Local Funds. Payment for the Work Will Be Made on the Basis of Contractor's Periodic Applications-for-payment Processed by the Engineer. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, or other security authorized by law, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. In accordance with O.C.G.A. 43-41-1, Bidders must submit a photocopy of their Georgia Utility Contractors License. Contractors shall comply with all provisions of the "Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act" (O.C.G.A. 13- 10-91 and O.C.G.A. 50-36-1). The Successful Bidder must certify compliance with all applicable state and federal laws regarding maintaining a drug-free workplace. The right is reserved by the Owner to delay the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the bid opening date, during which time the bids shall remain open and not subject to withdrawal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any and all technicalities or informalities. If an award is made, the award will be made to the responsive and responsible Bidder having the lowest Total Bid.
