Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The 10% Emerging Business Enterprise (EBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal has been waived by the City of Fort Wayne Vendor Compliance Office for this project. Participation from EBE and MBE Contractors, though not required, are still encouraged. Proposed construction will include rehabilitation of a historic steel Pratt truss pedestrian bridge and approach spans. The scope of the project includes rehabilitation or replacement of multiple lower chord pins, rehabilitation or replacement of multiple low chord eyebars, partial replacement of floor stringers, decorative portal replacement, rivet installation, new decking, mudwall extensions, railing reconstruction, cleaning and painting of entire structure and approach spans, tree removal and mitigation plantings, and all incidental work required as more fully specified in the Contract Documents and Plans Fort Wayne Parks Mechanic St. Bridge Renovation Est. Completion Date: May 1, 2025 Description: Provide labor and materials as required to renovate the bridge per the construction documents. Site Directions: The bridge is located in Fort Wayne, IN over the St. Marys River on the east side of Swinney Park. The location is near the intersection of Mechanic and Elm Streets on the east end, and Swinney Park on the west end. The bridge is currently closed to pedestrian traffic.
