Reference Number 0000264277 Supply and placement of traffic gravel in various zones on roads throughout the Municipality General The Municipality has been divided into 9 separate zones for the supply and placement of traffic gravel. Map of zones is attached. Contractors may submit pricing for any or all zones. Zone 9 will be supplied from current RM of Stanley inventory and will secure hauling. Guidelines Traffic gravel must meet RM of Stanley Traffic Gravel Specifications (attached). A copy of a verified test must accompany this bid (2022/2023 test will suffice) Material is to be placed between June 3rd, 2024, and August 5th, 2024. Timing and logistics are to be communicated with the Gravel Coordinator. If any zone is not completed by the target date, the submitting contractor will be charged a late fee of $200 per day per zone (or $1000 per week whichever is less). Any requests for extensions to the deadline must be applied for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the deadline and will be considered only for exceptional circumstances beyond the control of the contractor. Actual volumes and placements as indicated on the map may vary, as a new map will be issued before placement. Hauling hours are to be between 7am and 7pm, Monday-Saturday, and within the rules of the supplying pits' license. Truckers are expected to travel no more than 70 km/hr. on RM roads. Contractor will be deemed the prime contractor and is responsible to maintain safe operations as defined by the Workplace Safety and Health Act of Manitoba The contractor will supply proof of $2,000,000 liability insurance with the quote. All discrepancies must be reported to the Gravel Coordinator immediately. Any safety hazards created on the road (piles of gravel, rock, etc.) caused by the contractor are to be reported to the Gravel Coordinator Immediately and not to be left unmarked. Contractor is responsible to ensure that there is no contamination in the material. Any material proven to be unacceptable will be rejected until proof of compliance is supplied. Any material placed over a dustproofed site will not be compensated for, the contractor may be required to cover the cost to rejuvenate any dust proofed site destroyed by such action. On a daily basis, the contractor will record volume and location of each load on RM supplied gravel cards and will be made available for the Gravel Coordinator within 24 hours of placement. Invoices may be received weekly and must include recording of individual gravel cards on the invoice, as well as the actual cards and any scale tickets. Any discrepancies in the gravel quality may be verified by an outside source. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
