As of August 14, 2025, this project is in the design phase. An engineer has been selected on the project. Information regarding bidding for a general contractor is not available. Per the owner, construction is expected to begin in late 2027. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The City of Powder Springs is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from qualified firm(s) or organization(s) to provide consultant services for scoping and design of the Austell Powder Springs Road at Marietta Street project. The intersection combines Austell Powder Springs Road, Marietta Street, and Powder Springs Road at a skewed angle. The goal of this project is to correct misalignment, reduce unnecessary delays and congestion, and improve pedestrian and bicycle mobility. Deadline for submission of written questions and requests for clarification February 23, 2024 Questions about any aspect of the RFQ, or the project, shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to Kelly Axt, City Clerk, 770-943-1666, kaxt@cityofpowdersprings.org. Due to the federal funding, this project will utilize the Georgia Department of Transportation Board adopted overall annual goal of 15% for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation. This goal is not to be considered as a fixed quota, set aside or preference. The DBE goal can be met by prime contracting, sub-contracting, joint-venture, or mentor/ protégé relationship. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
