The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: site work and new construction of a 21,300 square-foot educational facility. As of February 15, 2024, a general contractor has been assigned for this project. A firm construction timeline for this project has not yet been released. Bancroft Construction Company is soliciting bids for the UMES Agricultural Research & Education Center on the University of Eastern Shore campus, Princess Anne, MD. The proposed UMES Agricultural Research & Education Center is planned as a teaching, research and agricultural extension facility totaling approximately 14,400 NASF and 21,300 GSF including: specialized research laboratories (Soil & Water Quality, Microbiology/Plant Pathology, Genomics/Molecular Biology, and Animal Science), and meeting rooms, as well as researcher, extension agent and staff offices and support spaces. The project also encompasses six (6) Research Greenhouses. Trade partner bid packages include: Sitework, concrete, masonry, steel, carpentry, casework (laminate & lab) roofing, waterproofing, insulation, architectural wall panels, aluminum storefront, glazing, hollow metal doors/frames/ hardware, louvers, metal stud framing/ drywall, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, painting, division 10, window shades, lab equipment, controlled environment rooms, engineered glass structures, fire protection, mechanical systems & electrical systems.
