Renovation of a detention facility in El Dorado, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

Questions requesting clarification of the bid must be submitted in writing to the Procurement Officer indicated above: Before the end of the day, on Friday, March 1, 2024 The El Dorado Correctional Facility is seeking competitive bids for Sallyport Doors Replacement Specifications o Replacement of existing D5B High Traffic Corridor Door Operators on both Main Compound Entry Sallyport Doors at the El Dorado Correctional Facility with equivalent or better. Operators are high security, motorized roller chain driven locking and operating mechanisms for individual sliding doors not exceeding 450 pounds. Unit unlocks, opens, and locks open; or unlocks, closes and deadlocks closed a corridor door. Door stopped in mid-travel may be opened or closed manually. Direction of movement of door may be reversed electrically. In event of blockage, a torque limiter slips to prevent motor damage. When obstruction is removed, the door will automatically continue movement towards the open or closed position. Pressure exerted by door in travel will need to be factory set to approximately 40 pounds. In event of power failure, door may be released from a column at the door location by use of a Folger Adams FA paracentric deadbolt key. The door may then be moved manually to an open position. o Locking System: Doors automatically deadlock at two points at the rear of the door. Locking components are fully concealed and not subject to inmate tampering. Local mechanical/electrical control of the door is accomplished by an 80 Series lock in an adjacent column. o Connect new operators to existing field wiring and testing for correct operation of new Operators. Adjust locking mechanisms for maximum setting and engagement. Calibrate limit switches for correct indication and travel. Test key and re-locking functions. Test electrical operation for door control and proper indication. o Door width 40", opening 83" x 39 3/4 ", Operator cover length 94 3/4 ", height 14", depth 10". o 7ga Steel for operator mechanism housing. Housing cover 10ga steel. o Motor voltage 110V, indication/door control switches voltage is 24V. o One of the two door must always remain secure. o Tools and parts will be inventoried in and out of facility each day. o Area must be kept neat while work is being performed. Area needs to be clean and free of debris at the end of each business day. o Contractor will be always escorted. o Work hours will be 0700 - 1500 M-F. Work will not be done on major holidays. o This is a Maximum Custody Correctional Facility, unexpected delays and interruptions are always a possibility. There is no cost associated with the checks. The Kansas Department of Administration, Office of Procurement and Contracts is currently open to the public and accepting both emailed and hand delivered bids. Please note that you will receive an email that your documents were received, if you do not receive an email there may be an issue, please call 785-296-0002 to confirm that your bid package was received electronically. Bids are not considered received until they are date and time stamped in the Office of Procurement and Contracts. The Office of Procurement and Contracts will not be responsible for late deliveries. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure the bid date and time is met and the EVT number and company name is included in the subject line of the email. Bidders are encouraged to submit bids to the above email address no later than 1:45PM on the bid closing date. This allows time for staff to receive the bid and log it into our system prior to the bid closing at 2:00PM CST. Tab sheet requests for Invitation for Bids (IFB), Requests for Quotes (RFQ) and A-Bids (ARCH) can be requested by emailing tabsheets@ks.gov. Please include the EVT or A-Bid number on your request. Tab sheets will be emailed within five (5) business days of the request.
