Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; swimming pool; and swimming pool.
The Work Includes, but is Not Limited to, Replacement of the Pool Liner, Repair of the Perimeter Drain, New Floor Finish for the Deck, New Bleachers, New Surge and Pump Pits, Boiler for Pool Heater, and New Filter System. Refer to the Drawings and Project Manual for the Full Scope of Work. Prevailing Wage Law: This Project is Subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 Ilcs130). Prequalification Procedure: All Interested Bidders Are Required to Complete an Aia Document A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement and Submit Them With All Bidding Documents at the Time of Bid. Construction Bonds Required: Upon Award of the Contract, a Performance Bond and Material & Labor Payment Bond Will Be Required From the General Contractor for 100% of the Contract Sum, Payable to the Owner. Receipt of a Bid Bond of Ten Percent (10%) of the Amount of the Base Bid(S) (Including All Alternates and Allowances) or Cashier's Check, Made Payable to School District U-46, is Required Prior to the Time of the Virtual Bid Opening. Contractor Shall Send the Original Bid Bond or Cashier's Check to the Plant Operations Office (School District U-46 Plant Operations Office, 1460 Sheldon Drive Elgin, Hours 7:00 Am to 4:00 Pm, Illinois 60120 Attn: Danise Smith) via Certified Mail, Ups, or Fedex to Ensure Confirmed Delivery Prior to Bid Opening. If Contractor Has an Electronic Certification Process, Then They Will Be Able to Upload the Bid Bond Into the Bidding Portal. The Work includes but is not limited to, replacement of the pool liner, repair the perimeter drain, new floor finish for the deck, new bleachers, new surge and pump pits, boiler for pool heater, and new filter system. Refer to the drawings and project manual for the full scope of work. The construction schedule is critical. Contractors shall commence work on the date of Notice to Proceed and shall complete all work in a diligent and professional manner by dates indicated in schedule. Contractors shall cooperate with the Owner at all times and coordinate construction work to maintain the safety, health, and welfare of students, staff, workers and other contractors. No oral interpretations will be made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the Specifications or the Drawings. Every request for an interpretation shall be made through Bonfire "Opportunity Q&A." Deadline to submit questions in Bonfire will be Thursday, February 29, 2024 by 10:00 am. All questions will be responded to by Monday, March 04, 2024 by 12:00 pm (noon) and posted in the form of a "Public Notice." No questions will be responded to through district email or by phone call.
