The Jackson Pike Transfer Station and Convenience Center (JPTS/JPCC) serves a vital role in Franklin County's waste disposal system, accepting residential and commercial waste for transfer to the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill (FCSL). However, the existing facility faces limitations in capacity and functionality. SWACO seeks to address these shortcomings by: 1. Creating waste segregation capacity by constructing a space adjacent to the tipping floor and associated infrastructure to accommodate the segregation of recyclable material from the waste stream. 2. Creating additional space for processing recyclables, bailing, bail storage, and loading dock area. 3. Enhancing environmental sustainability by incorporating green building principles and best practices to minimize environmental impact. 4. Develop a publicly accessible, user-friendly layout for the Convenience Center with clear designated drop-off areas and vehicle separation, and improved transfer station access.
