The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide Litter Removal Services (Primary Roadways) on specified routes within Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties per the specifications within this solicitation. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, supplies, fuel, traffic control, and incidentals to remove and legally dispose of all litter and debris from primary roadways and right of ways throughout Halifax and Pittsylvania County. The Contractors bid pricing shall be for complete service and include all costs incurred and any incidentals required to perform the work. For the purpose of this contract, litter and debris are defined as anything that is not a natural part of the roadway or rightof-way, such as tree limbs, tires, small dead animals and trash. All litter and debris shall be removed from the roadway to the right-of-way fence or ditch. This area shall include, but is not limited to medians, ramps, loops, infield areas and slopes. Contractor shall also remove all litter, grass, leaves and vegetative debris accumulated at drop inlets and drainage grates. All work shall be performed as assigned by the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee. Contractor shall ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the current version of the Manual on Uniform Control Devices (MUTCD). All traffic control services shall conform to the current version of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device Standards (MUTCD) and the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (VWAPM).
