Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
The Main Street Theater property was purchased by Fitchburg State University in 2016. The University plans to completely renovate the existing theater building in the future, but in the meantime the roof is deteriorating. Water infiltration through the roof and envelope is causing interior damage, so in an effort to preserve as much of the historic interior as possible and maintain the integrity of the building structure, the roof will be replaced in this offshoot phase of the project and the building's masonry brick will be re-pointed. The goal of this enabling project is to seal the building as weather-tight. Requesting qualification Statements from firms interested in bidding on Trade Contractor work. Responses from eligible trade contractors will be used to prequalify the Trade Contractors to participate in response to a Request for Bids that will be issued by the authority. This project incorporates the requirements set forth in M.G.L. c. 149A. Scope of work includes roof replacement and building envelop repairs at the Main Street Theater Block building in Fitchburg, MA.
