Project: RFB2024-13 Training Facility Update (Burn Rooms) Scope of Work are available from the Barrow County website at Online; all inquiries should be directed to: Cindy Clack, Senior Buyer Barrow County Board of Commissioners 30 North Broad Street Winder, GA 30680. Each BID must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Owner. The sealed envelopes containing the BIDS must be plainly marked with "RFB2024-15 Training Facility Update (Burn Rooms) Re-bid." If a BID is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the BID must be enclosed in another envelope to the attention of the Owner at the address previously given and also plainly marked as shown above with the applicable RFB number and description. Owner Reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all BIDS, to evaluate BIDS, and to accept any BIDS which, in its opinion, may be in the best interest of the Owner. Project Description Project. A general description of the Project is as follows: RFB2024-15 FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING FACILITY UPDATE (BURN ROOMS) Re-bid, which is described as replacing and updating existing burn rooms, as specified in the Contract Documents (the "Project"). See the Plans, Drawings and/or Specifications attached at Exhibit E for additional information. To replace and update existing burn rooms in containers with materials consistent with the following. All current wall and roof plates are to be removed and areas of removal will be grinded and prepped for new covering. Once panels are removed the framework will be inspected and panels will be replaced using the necessary hardware. Wall and roof plates shall be replaced with 1/8" thick flat steel sheets that are to be welded at the seams and screwed where necessary to attach to framework. Burn rooms shall be constructed using high temperature steel with a minimum of a 2000 degree Fahrenheit rating. All metal used in burn room shall be American steel. Welds and door metal shall be drilled and plug welded to insure durability of walls under high temperature conditions. Chain shall be used on the walls and ceilings to hold commons sheet lumber. Chain shall be minimum 5/16". Side walls and ceiling shall easily accept full sheets of 4x8 of sheet lumber without requiring any cuts or notching. A cable controlled vent system shall be re-installed at the edge of the insulation exterior of the burn rooms. Exterior doors and windows shall be able to open and close freely and be able to be locked into positions of open and closed. Wood flooring shall be covered in designated areas using diamond plate sheeting.
