The Township of East Brunswick ("Township") wishes to seek proposals for the Activation, Winterization & Servicing of the Township's Irrigation Systems. The contract may be awarded two, one year extensions (2025 & 2026) based upon agreement between the Township of East Brunswick and Contractor. SCOPE OF WORK: The Township is issuing this request for quotation via a fair and open process in accordance with N.J.S.A 19:44A-20.4 et seq. The Township of East Brunswick has several areas of irrigation on public properties and is requesting proposals for activation, winterization and servicing for repairs and maintenance when necessary. General Overview of the Five Irrigated Areas: East Brunswick Baseball League / Managers Field Complex - 365 Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick NJ: 25 zones total. Consists of 1" inlet Toro 640 rotors for large turf areas and 3/4 " inlet stainless steel rotors for smaller turf areas. Bicentennial Park - 180 Hardenburg Lane, East Brunswick NJ: 9 zones total. Consists of 1" inlet Toro 640 rotor heads. Dideriksen Park - 440 Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick, NJ: 35 zones total. Consists of 1" inlet Toro 640 rotors, a booster pump and Toro LTC controller which operates 35 zones. Disassembly of water meter and backflow device are required at time of winterization. Re-assembly is required at the time of activation. Community Cultural Arts Center - 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ: Consists of two separate irrigation systems. Front lawn system and outdoor state system. They are 11 zones and 2 zones respectively. Municipal Complex - 1 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive, East Brunswick NJ: Consists of two separate irrigation systems. One for the municipal building and one for the library/senior citizens building. The municipal building has 6 zones, and the library/senior system has 11 zones. Activation Services - Activation shall include preparing any backflow devices, water meter and booster pump, where required. Activation is REQUIRED to be no later than May 15th annually. o Set timer for correct time and date. o Replace any batteries, where required. o Activate each zone from timer and inspect zone operation to record any sprinkler heads that are non-functional, tilted, too high, too low or require relocation. o Check zone operations for any pipe breaks, or leaks. o Check zone operation for any clogged or missing nozzles. o Adjust sprinkler heads for proper spray pattern and to avoid spraying sand clay areas. o Observe zone valve operations noting if there are problems with valve operations such as valves not fully opening or valves that are very slow to close. A report of noted repair items for each of the five irrigation areas will be submitted. A separate cost quote showing labor and materials costs for each of the five irrigated areas will accompany each report. Note, on the athletic fields, Toro 1" inlet rotors will be replaced with only Toro 1" rotors. The 3/4 " inlet rotors must have stainless steel risers. All 1" swing joints shall be 12" lay length minimum. Existing zone valves are Toro 252 series and should be serviced with same series and size.
