Barrier Retrofit and Beam Crack Repairs All Bid Proposals must be accompanied by a Bid Bond which shall have, as security therefore, either a Corporate Surety or a certified or cashier's check payable to the Derry Township Supervisors, same to be in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Base Bid Proposal submitted. All Corporate Sureties must be registered in the State of Pennsylvania. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the same has been filed with the Derry Township Supervisors. All contractors must adhere to Act 127 of 2012 (Public Works Employment Verification Act). The Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Requirement apply to this project. The Derry Township Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in bids received. This work consists of maintenance and the protection of traffic during construction, retrofitting existing bridge barrier open joints and applying a protective coating to the exterior face of the exterior beams to repair cracks. Removal of vehicles, barricading and all other operations necessary for the completion of the required work is the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor must be thoroughly experienced in this type of work, must be reputable and must recognize the fact that this project will require utmost care in the execution of the work. All work shall conform during its progress or on its completion, truly to the specifications and shall be built in a thoroughly substantial and workmanlike manner, in accordance with the plans and directions given from time to time by the Representative, subject to such modifications and additions as shall be deemed necessary by the Representative during its execution, and in no case shall any work in excess of the plan requirements and specification be paid for unless ordered in writing by the Owner or the Representative. This work is removing portions of the existing concrete barriers adjacent to the bridge barrier open joints, installing/splicing reinforcement and forming and placing concrete Copies of the Contract Documents must be obtained at the office of GIBSON-THOMAS ENGINEERING 1004 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA 15650, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. upon the payment of a nonrefundable fee of $75.00 (plus an additional charge of $15.00 if mailed at Gibson-Thomas Engineerings cost), for eac set of Bid Documents.
