County(S): Burke and Burke Description: Rehabilitation of Bridge Number 154 Over I-40 The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for rehabilitation of bridge number 154 over I-40 on SR-1001 (Rutherford College Rd/Malcolm Blvd) in Burke County Firms that wish to bid on these projects as the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to submitting your bid. Firms that wish to perform as a subcontractor to the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to beginning work on the project. The availability date for this contract will be April 29, 2024. The completion date for this project is August 22, 2025. NCDOT -Rehabilitation of Bridge Number 154 - SR-1001 SCOPE OF WORK Work will be performed on the existing bridges at the following locations: Burke County Bridge #154 - SR-1001 over 1-40 Contractor shall provide all necessary access; provide all traffic control; provide all staging areas, material storage, waste disposal, sawing equipment, and chipping equipment; and all else necessary to complete the work. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials to replace the existing superstructure of bridge 110154 with 4 spans of 10, 24" Cored Slab Units with a concrete wearing surface and concrete vertical barrier rails, retrofitting the current substructure to accommodate the new superstructure, and complete substructure repairs. Work includes: portable lighting, partial removal of existing structure, installing elastomeric bearing pads, placing and setting girders, placing concrete overlay, constructing vertical concrete barrier rails, installing foam joint seals, disposal of waste material, grooving bridge deck, pavement markings, substructure repairs using concrete and shotcrete repairs, substructure cap construction, incidental milling and application of asphalt surface course to the approach roadway; seeding and mulching all grassed areas disturbed; and all incidental items necessary to complete the project as specified and shown on the plans. No separate measurement or payment will be made for seeding, mulching or any measures required to control erosion or prevent off-site sedimentation.
