This project will consist of "raise" pruning trees on or partially within the public right-of-way. The Contractor shall furnish equipment, tools, materials and labor for this project. It is recommended that potential contractors inspect the area. Raising shall consist of selective pruning to provide vertical street clearance - 14 ft. on the street side. However, species, size, and condition of each tree must be considered so not to over-prune/over-raise. Branches, including temporary, should be pruned to prepare them for future clearance needs. Typically, no more than 25% of the total canopy should be removed. Trees vary in size. Some require little or no pruning, others more extensive Recently planted, or young trees scheduled for structural pruning by the forestry department, will not be included on the inventory report. All pruning cuts shall be made in conformance with the latest version of ANSI A300 (part 1) Pruning Standard. Broken branches shall be removed. Remove crossed or rubbing branches where practical. All pruning shall be performed with consideration of the tree species' inherent growth (i.e., vase-shaped, pyramidal, broad-oval, etc). Improving and/or maintaining tree health is a critical consideration as well as clearance needs. All pruning including branches, chips, and rakings must be removed to the disposal site daily. Disposal of brush and logs from this project will be at City owned landfill and at no cost to the Contractor. Complete entire street/avenue before proceeding to the next. The estimated start date is on or around April 1, 2024, depending on weather. The projected completion date is May 1, 2024.
