The asphalt pavement located just north of the maintenance shed, south and east of the Fish Hatchery Building, and around the raceways need repairs. These areas have become cracked due to freeze-thaw cycles induced by weather fluctuations and the travel of equipment by site staff. These areas shall be cleaned, vegetation removed from all existing cracks, cracks sealed, and the areas seal coated. One small area off the north edge of the sidewalk leading to the raceways and one area off of the east side of the loading dock will need re-striped. ALL QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THE SCOPE OF WORK OR THE BIDBUY PROCEDURES, MUST BE DIRECTED TO Frederick.Murphy@Illinois.gov ALL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING NO LATER THAN THREE (3) BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THE BID DATE This project will consist of the Contractor providing all labor, equipment, and materials needed to clean the asphalt areas, seal all cracks, and apply one (1) seal coat to the existing hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement in the areas denoted on the Aerial Map provided in Attachment 2. The seal coat consists of one (1) application of coal tar pitch emulsion slurry applied by squeegees, followed by restriping of the pavement markings of the areas noted on the Aerial Map. The Contractor shall coordinate the project with Site Manager John Zeigler to minimize any disruptions to daily operations. The asphalt pavement areas to be sealed are approximately 5,635 square yards total. There is approximately 3,000 linear feet of crack seal to be applied, at an average width of 3/8" and an average depth of 3/8". The seal coat and crack sealant will be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and must be compatible. Once the seal coat is complete, the two small areas denoted on the aerial map shall be re-striped, approximately 92 linear feet. Pursuant to (30 ILCS 500/1-15.17) the Contractor is the person having a contract with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with all applicable contractor and trades person licensing with the appropriate State agency. Bids shall be good for ninety (90) calendar days after the Bid Opening Date.b
