Renovation of an educational facility in Greenville, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The School District of Greenville County (District) invites responsible and prequalified contractors to submit a SEALED BID to provide a Roof Replacement at Berea Elementary located at 100 Berea Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29617 in accordance with the specifications and terms and conditions of this solicitation. The work is to be performed from May 24th- August 5th, 2024. This solicitation does not commit the District to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of the response to this solicitation or to procure any goods or services. Questions or comments regarding this solicitation document or the process shall be forwarded, in writing, to Ms. Tonya A. Inquiries and comments shall be delivered to the Procurement Department no later than March 28th, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. EDT. Verbal questions/comments shall not be addressed at any time. After the Inquiry Deadline, the District will issue an addendum to address any questions or changes. Any addenda will be posted on the Procurement Department website. Questions and comments received after the Inquiry Deadline will not be addressed. NOTE: No other District personnel or representative of the District shall be contacted regarding this solicitation or the evaluation process. Vendors that attempt to contact other District personnel or representatives or obtain information in any way other than the authorized method, which is in writing to the Procurement Officer, may have that firm's bid rejected. Be prepared to have your license scanned and entered into the national database of registered sex offenders. You will be asked to leave District property if your name is on this list. The District will make no further arrangements for site visits. Note that a jobsite visit is an opportunity to review actual site conditions: a jobsite visit is not an opportunity to make verbal inquiries. Any bidder not adhering to the inquiry guidelines may cause their bid to be deemed non-Responsive. All work shall be completed no later than August 5, 2024, subject to adjustments as provided in the Contract documents. The contractor will adhere to a strict project schedule, which stipulates work will start no earlier than May 24, 2024, pending an award and issuance of purchase order. The successful contractor may work evenings and weekends with at least a 48-hour notice and approval from the Project Manager for SDGC. After hours work must be coordinated for security guard assistance. Security guard cost will be handled by SDGC. District Schedule Please note that the District operates on Summer Schedule (Monday through Thursday) beginning May 24, 2024 and ending July 25, 2024. When operating on Summer Schedule, all District locations are closed on Friday. For further information on the District calendar, interested parties may refer to the District website www.greenville.k12.sc.us. Description of the Project The Project consist of the replacement of 81,500 square feet of aggregate surfaced, low sloped, bituminous, asphalt, roof system. Roof Areas A through G. All existing roof system is to be removed down to Type B metal roof deck. Remove existing metal and base flashing, gutters, downspouts and edge metal. Install new TPO membrane roof system, edge metal and gutter replacement, and other miscellaneous work as specified. Please see Specifications for detailed scope of work. Provide 2-Year Contractors Warranty along with the manufacturer's 20-year No Dollar Limit Warranty. There will be a $30,000.00 Contingency included in the Base Bid and Three Additive Alternates for pricing for 60 Mil PVC Single-ply Roof System; 80 Mil TPO Single-ply Room System; and installation of new metal roof coating on Roof Areas 1 through 3 approximately 6,830 square feet. The work is to be performed from May 24th- August 5th, 2024; which is Seventy-Four (74) Calendar Days. Vendors shall submit a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Base Bid Agreement with their bid response. The Bid Security must be in the form of a Bid Bond or Cashier's Check payable to The School District of Greenville County. No personal checks, company checks or cash will be accepted. Bid Security shall be submitted with the bid or the bid may be considered nonresponsive and not subject to an award. If the total amount of the awarded project exceeds fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), prior to work commencing, the successful Prime Contractor shall provide the SDGC Facilities Department Project Manager with Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the awarded contract cost.
