Renovation of a municipal facility in Bartow, Florida. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
As of May 14, 2024, bids were rejected. No definite date for rebid. SCOPE OF WORK: The City of Bartow Public Works Department is seeking a qualified contractor to provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and supervision to repair and/ or replace the roofs at three (3) separate locations/ buildings. All information related to this project is further detailed in the pages to follow. Scope Of Work The City of Bartow (the "City") Public Works Department is seeking a qualified contractor to provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and supervision to repair and/ or replace roofing at three (3) separate locations/ buildings with the City (Attachment "A"): 1. Public Works Office (300 E. Church Street, Bartow, FL 33830) 2. Girl Scout House (290 E. Church Street, Bartow, FL 33830) 3. Old Civic Center (455 N. Wilson Avenue, Bartow, FL 33830) Work Consist of: Completely remove existing shingle roofs and flashing down to deck. Repair and replace any decayed deck, truss and fascia to match. Re-nail all existing decking to FBC compliance. New 22GA galvanized flashing shall be required. Shingles to be mildew resistant and marked to be in compliance with current ASTM D3462, and US Class A, color as selected by owners, confirm prior to ordering. Or pre-approved equal. All shingles are provided with a Manufacturer's Limited Warranty for a specified period of time, but due to our semi-tropical climate, most will not function. 50% of the Warranty period is close to the expected useful life in South Florida. The City intends to be reimbursed by FEMA and as such, all requirements of the federal award are applicable to the Successful Proposer, sub-consultant, and any material suppliers. All services must be performed in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Local regulations. Question Deadline 03/19/2024 at 4:00 PM ET. QUESTIONS DEADLINE. All questions must be received by the date stated in writing and must be sent to Danielle Rose, Purchasing Manager via email at drose@cityofbartow.net. Estimated Cost: $147,000.00 Project Timeline The Contract Time is as follows: 90 CALENDAR DAYS Liquidated Damages Liquidated damages of $500/day shall be assessed. Bid Bond: A Bid Bond is required to be submitted with all construction bids in excess of $150,000.00 in an amount not exceed five percent (10%) of the preliminary estimate of the cost of the work (amount bid). Unsuccessful bidders will be entitled to return of surety. A successful bidder may forfeit any surety required upon failure on their part to enter into a contract within the specified time after the award. See Section 337.17, of the Florida Statutes. Performance Bond & Payment Bond: A Public Construction or Performance and Payment Bond will be required on all construction contracts when the price exceeds $250,000. A surety bond shall be required of the successful bidder in an amount equal to the awarded contract price and, if called out in the contract, the allowance amount; and shall be submitted to Procurement along with the executed contract documents as outlined under section 11.0, Approval of Contract. The City may choose, in its discretion and applicable only to multiyear maintenance contracts, to allow for incremental annual contract bonds that cumulatively total the full, awarded, multiyear contract price. See Section 337.18, of the Florida Statutes.
