The work to be performed consists of potholing approximately 368 water service lines generally at two (2) locations on each service line to identify water service line material. The project is located in Brookville Borough and Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, PA. Bidding and Contract Documents including plans and specifications are on file and open for inspection during normal business hours (Monday thru Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) at the offices of Gwin, Dobson & Foreman, Inc., 3121 Fairway Drive, Altoona, PA, 16602-4475 (Ph: 814-943-5214 and Fax: 814-943-8494), and may be examined or requested between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Contract documents may also be obtained electronically at no charge. Bidding documents including plans, specifications and addenda must be obtained directly from the Engineer for a bid to be considered. The successful bidder will be required to comply with Prevailing Minimum Wages in accordance with the PA Department of Labor & Industry Prevailing Minimum Wage Determination. A certified check or bid bond payable to, or naming as obligee, the Brookville Municipal Authority in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid must be deposited with the proposal as a guarantee that in the event the contract is awarded, the Bidder will execute the contract and furnish the bonds required. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for performance and payment bonds in the full amount of the contract price All bonds shall be executed by sureties named in the current list, "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties in Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published in Circular 570 (as amended) by the Audit Staff, Bureau of Government Financial Operations, U.S. Treasury Department and shall be acceptable to the Brookville Municipal Authority. Proposal envelopes must be clearly labeled, "Proposal for Water Service Line Inventory" and bear the name of the bidder. The Brookville Municipal Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, to waive any informalities or bidding irregularities, and to award the contract as may be deemed by the Authority to be in their best interest.
