COLUMBUS, OH 43228 SIEBERT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 385 REINHARD AVE, COLUMBUS, OH 43206 WESTMOOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 3001 VALLEYVIEW DR, COLUMBUS, OH 43204 VALLEYVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 2989 Valleyview Dr, Columbus, OH 43204 The Submitter has complied (or, in the case of a design-build or construction managerat-risk project, will comply) with the LEDE requirements by selecting and engaging LEDEs consistent with the LEDE Participation Goal of 20%. 1. Replacement of existing fire alarm system including but not limited to: a. Construction and fire alarm permit submission, fees, and final acceptance documentation. b. Demolition of existing system. c. Removal of all associated components and system interfaces including but not limited to 1) Conduit 2) Electrical boxes 3) Cabling 4) System interfaces 5) Modification or removal of existing HVAC fire alarm interfaces. 6) Surface path/repair where components are removed d. Installation of new fire alarm system 1) All fire alarm equipment and associated components shall be new. 2) All cabling shall be new; existing cabling shall not be re-used. 3) Existing conduit pathways and device back boxes may be utilized; however these documents have not verified existing condition or configuration. 4) Modification to existing electrical connections. 5) Modification or removal of existing HVAC fire alarm interfaces. 6) Modification or removal of existing Hood Suppression System fire alarm interfaces. 2. Existing system operation a. While building is occupied by staff or students the existing system operation must be maintained while the new systems are installed; temporary interfaces between systems will be required. b. While building is unoccupied by staff or students during the summer break beginning 6/3/2024 the existing systems may be taken off line to complete installation of the new system. 1) New system must be installed/tested/approved by AHJ prior to the contract completion date. c. Notify Engineer and District a minimum of 10 days prior to taking existing systems offline. 3. Responsible for patch and repair of existing surfaces where boxes are added/removed, conduit/cabling is added/removed or other work required by this contract impacts finishes. Surfaces are to be repaired to match adjacent surround area of affected area. 4. Scheduling. a. Project schedule. b. Coordination with other concurrent construction activities within the building including, but not limited to: Roof Replacement, Interior Finish Improvements, Owner self-performed Improvements, and Owner Moving Services. 5. Inspection scheduling. 6. Fire Watch a. Contractor is responsible for providing a fire watch when required due to system outages extending past working hours where all or part of the building is without fire alarm system protection from either the new or existing system(s) while the building is occupied by staff or students. b. Contractor is required to provide a fire watch if the existing system is off line at any time the building is occupied by students.. 7. All fire alarm cabling shall be new; existing cabling is not to be re used. Exceptions: a. 120v circuits may be reconfigured and reused where applicable. b. System interface cabling such as AHU shutdown may be reconfigured and reused where applicable. c. System cabling serving existing devices that are noted to remain. 8. Existing fire alarm system conduits and boxes may be utilized for installation of new fire alarm cabling. Deadline for RFIs is Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 10:00am.
