Renovation improvements also include skate park expansion, two playground replacements, new irrigation system, lighting installation, concrete trail installation, and park shelter installation. Benedict Park is a 21.83-acre site centrally located and loved by the community. The highly visible construction renovation project will revitalize the park experience while providing updated and upgraded amenities. Salient features of the project include: Two new playgrounds, one with sensory play plus another with an obstacle course Replacement of aging irrigation system to provide water efficiency and less maintenance Extensive expansion of skate park Three new ADA accessible shelters Trail loop connection Safety lighting Identification signs Upgraded amenities Resodding of disturbed construction areas. Benedict Park is one of Brighton's oldest, most mature parks constructed in the late 1950's. It is a very versatile park composed of a skate park, disc golf course, arboretum, xeric demonstration beds, two playgrounds and one restroom. It is also heavily used for sports programming. The scope of this project shall include replacement and installation of two (2) playgrounds, skate park expansion, installation of a new irrigation system, as well as replacement and installation of three (3) new Poligon shelters. Additional project requirements include installation of new park amenities such as benches, trashcans, installation of underground electrical and lighting, rough grading work, concrete work, and installation a concrete loop trail. The Contractor shall be responsible for protection of existing infrastructure including but not limited to landscaping, sod, trees, existing sidewalk, asphalt, structures, and other park amenities as outlined in the construction documents.
