A timeline for construction has not yet been established. *Previous solicitation listed below for reference:* The Town of New Milford is requesting proposals from qualified professional engineering firms, licensed in the State of Connecticut, to provide Civil Engineering Design Services for the Town. The Town of New Milford would like to improve an existing signalized four way intersection at East St (Rt 202), Poplar St (Rt 202), Elm St and Elm St Ext. The design to include the partial realignment of the intersection and the creation of separate left turn lanes at approaches in the North/South direction. Pedestrian crossings should also be incorporated/improved to meet current standards. The improvements at this location are intended to reduce delays to vehicular traffic, while simultaneously providing safer crossings for pedestrians and bicyclists. Up to three conceptual designs are to be drafted to show improvements factors and cost estimates for each. East Street (Rt 202) is a state road and therefore the final plan must be approved by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. The Town reserves the right to host up to two Public Information Meetings regarding the project to which the awarded firm shall be present for to answer questions. Schedule for completion of work will be: three concepts w/ data and cost estimates due at sixty days from award; final design and completed/updated funding application due sixty days from date of approval of conceptual drawing.
