**As of April 22, 2024 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Val Verde County is soliciting Requests for Proposals from contractors for the community center expansion project. The project will consist of adding an additional 35' x 52' expansion northeast from the existing building. The project is located in Val Verde County, Texas. Bond Notes: Offerors shall submit a proposal bond by an acceptable surety in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposal in excess of $100,000.00. A certified check or bank draft payable to the locality or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Proposal Bond. The successful Offeror must be able to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner. Awarded contractor will be required to furnish bonds within thirty (30) days from the contract date and before any commencement of work. Proposals may be held by Val Verde County for a period of sixty (60) days or until a contract is awarded, whichever occurs first, from the date of the RFP opening for the purpose of reviewing proposals.
