The project consists of constructing new high-pressure plastic (PE) gas services typically ranging from 1/2 " to 2" in size, and mains ranging from 1" to 8" in size at various locations as directed by the Engineer. Significant portions of the gas main and service shall be horizontally directional drilled as indicated on the plans or as directed by the Engineer. Some materials for the project are being provided by the City because of limited availability, complete details about supplied materials are in the special provisions. Other tasks such as bollard installations, riser replacements, and miscellaneous repairs may also be included with this project at any time. Restoration of both private and public turfed areas, aggregate driving surfaces, bituminous pavement, concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, and concrete sidewalks is included Bid surety in an amount equal to five per cent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid.
