The Channel Works in Yellow Creek near Heath Street Project involves the re-alignment and repair of an eroded channel within the Vale of Avoca that is causing slope steepening. This steepening is leading to increased slope instability which poses a serious threat to the residential houses above the valley. The intent of the project is to remove/repair existing channel protection features while also strengthening the robustness of the channel by adding armourstone walls throughout. Scope of work includes: ESC measures; installation of access route; staging/stockpiling; earthworks; temporary by-pass pumping with watertight cofferdam; armourstone wall construction; vegetative buttress construction; riffle/pool sequence with rib structures construction; restoration (plantings, topsoil, fencing, seeding, etc.). Awarded, Dynex Construction Inc. $2,947,485.00 plus applicable taxes
