Reference Number 0000344141 This Contract provides for the removal of the existing failed coating system within the western cell of the Red Rocks Amphitheater Tank. 1. Remove Existing Coatings - Remove all visible coating, particularly uncured areas, loose or unadhered coatings, and other soluble contaminants. It is anticipated this will an abrasive blast in accordance with SSPC-SP13/NACE 6 Surface Preparation of Concrete ASTM D4259, or other appropriate method to achieve the removal of the coating. Finished surface profile is critical as it is anticipated that the tank interior will be recoated, as the tank is to be demolished and replaced in the next few years. 2. If there are significant cracks, or voids that are created by the work. It is possible that such areas may be repaired or rehabilitated, by negotiated change order. 3. Contractors to refer to Exhibit A and Exhibit B for an understanding of the project location, access, and approximate quantities for the anticipated scope of work. Existing coating is GACO LM 60 Urethane (Applied 2006) with a noted thickness of 64 mils applied. The contractor shall be responsible for field verification of actual dimensions and respective quantities, including excess material required to be ordered to prevent shortages. Contractor shall be responsible for all aspects of the work, including provisions for entry, scaffolding, ventilation etc. 4. Contractor shall collect all spent blast material and debris and dispose of it offsite. 5. Following the coatings removal, Contractor shall clean, and disinfect the tank in order to put back in service. All wash down water must be pumped out and disposed of offsite. Contractor shall not be allowed to release waste down the tank drain piping. 6. Contractor shall disconnect the existing tank mixer, and provide to Town for temporary storage, and then reinstall at the time the tank will be placed back in service.
