The City of Somerton is seeking a Licensed general Contractor for the Somerton Community Center remodel project. This Request for Proposals ("RFP") describes the project, the required scope of services, the selection process, and the minimum information that must be included in the submittal. The scope of the project is further defined in Attachment - 'A' (Community Center Remodel). Failure to submit information in accordance with the RFP requirements and procedures may cause disqualification. Based on this RFP, the city intends to select one licensed general contractor. If the City is unable to reach an agreement with the selected contractor, the city retains the option to negotiate with another. The award of the contract for building remodel will be to the contractor whose professional qualifications,, experience, and. performance plan demonstrates that it will competently satisfy the requirements in this RFP within the City's budget. This RFP does not commit the City to award any contract, defray any costs incurred in the preparation of a submittal pursuant to this RFP, or in any resulting negotiations, or to procure contracts for work. Respondents to this RFP ("Respondents") will be responsible for verifying and inspecting the site prior to submitting a response to this RFP and will assume full responsibility for having familiarized himself or herself with the locality and local conditions that may in any manner affect the Work to be done. Submission of a response shall be evidence that the Respondent has made such examination and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered in performing the Work and as to the requirements of this RFP. The City of Somerton seeks to remodel the existing community center. As described in the Scope of Work Attachment 'A', it is envisioned that the remodel will include upgrades to the following: 1. Men Restrooms: 2 sinks, 2 mirrors, 2 urinals and flush valves, 2 toilets and flush valves, 2 hand bars, 2~9" paper dispensers, 1-soap dispenser, 1 floor drain, floor tile. 2. Women Restrooms: 2 sinks, 2 mirrors, 5 toilets, 2 hand bars, 5-9" paper dispensers, 5 sanitary dispensers, 1 soap dispenser, 1 floor drain, floor tile. 3. Both restrooms and dividers get new paint. 4. Remove door and opening (frame) 5. Additional labor Submittals will be evaluated by a committee based on the information submitted. After initial screening, the selection committee may select the lowest bidder but most qualified for this project for further evaluation. Interviews may be conducted as part of the final selection process. However, the city may, as its option, select a firm or firms strictly based on the initial submittals, without short-listing firms or conducting oral interviews. Further, the city has the option to reject all submittals. Final authority to approve the selection of a contractor and final acceptance of any agreement(s) rests with the City Council. Supply and install soap dispensers, toilet paper holders and hand dryers. (Two Bathrooms) 4. Remove existing toilets and urinals, supply and install new toilets with all necessary connections and fittings. Work shall include any drainage or plumbing modifications. (Two Bathrooms) 5.
