Certain work activities shall only be performed during nightly RTD rail service shutdowns. The condition in need of repair is the result of an undocumented field modification during the bridge's original construction (1965). RTD's design/build contractor Regional Rail Partners (RRP) rehabbed the bridge for the N Line commuter rail service that started in 2020. Although the rehab included new ties, continuously welded rail, and welded steel shims on top of each girder for the entire length of the bridge (to establish a uniform surface for the ties), the condition with the bearings was not addressed.
