Generally, the work includes removal and replacement of the roof system of the high school gymnasium, cafeteria, and boiler room roofs, approximately 18,400 s.f. Construction for the project is scheduled to commence on May 27, 2024 upon Board approval and be substantially complete by August 2, 2024. All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to all applicable laws of the State of Illinois and the United States of America, including but not limited to the "Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act" and the Wages of Employees on Public Works (Prevailing Wage Act). Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the Base Bid, made payable to the Board of Education, Arcola C.U.S.D. #309. Bids not accompanied by a bid bond will be rejected. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Surety Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall be by a duly authorized U. S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, acceptable to Owner. The Contractor shall pay the premiums for these bonds. The Board of Education for Arcola C.U.S.D. #306 reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening of bids.
